My 2017 Passat has that DSG shudder at low speeds and it's been getting worse over the last two months, especially in stop and go traffic on the Sharjah ring road. I took it to the dealership twice, first time they said it was normal, second time they wanted to replace the whole mechatronic unit for a figure that honestly made me laugh out loud. I'm not against paying for proper work but I want someone who actually understands VW gearboxes instead of throwing parts at it. A colleague from work told me he's been using a reliable Volkswagen repair garage serving Sharjah for years and never had an issue with their diagnostics. I have a 2018 GTC4Lusso and it has started doing this thing where the gearbox feels jerky at low speeds, like it cannot decide which gear to be in when I am crawling through traffic. Once I get moving it is fine, smooth as anything, but in stop and go it is noticeably less refined than it used to be. I have read that this can be adaptation related or sometimes a sign of clutch wear on the DCT, but I do not want to assume anything. I have been looking for a leading Ferrari transmission specialist in Sharjah since I would prefer not to ship the car to Dubai, but there is very little out there that seems credible.
