Passat DSG jerking again, tired of the dealership runaround
My 2017 Passat has that DSG shudder at low speeds and it's been getting worse over the last two months, especially in stop and go traffic on the Sharjah ring road. I took it to the dealership twice, first time they said it was normal, second time they wanted to replace the whole mechatronic unit for a figure that honestly made me laugh out loud. I'm not against paying for proper work but I want someone who actually understands VW gearboxes instead of throwing parts at it. A colleague from work told me he's been using a reliable Volkswagen repair garage serving Sharjah for years and never had an issue with their diagnostics. That's how I ended up looking at caracrepairsharjah's VW section, but I'd rather hear it from real people than trust a brand page. Anyone here dealt with DSG issues outside the dealer network? Did a proper adaptation reset and fluid change actually fix it or is it just delaying the inevitable? Also curious whether independent shops can handle the software side or if they're just doing mechanical work.
